Ushuaia to Punta Arenas

A day of rest for some

Hopefully the above gives some idea of what we experienced in the Antarctic. I am currently sitting comfortably on the ship as Celina visists a large colony of Magellanic Penguins on magdalena Island in the Magellan Strait. I am recovering from a nasty respiratory infection and could not go. Tonight we leave for Santiago and one night in the Hotel then it's off to Peru and Bolivia.

Sounds like you were blessed with the weather to get the ship in so close. I can only imagine how bad the URTI must have been for you to forgo the shore excursion. *hugs* Hope mum is feeling rested and better now.
