Peru at last!

A land of breathtaking beauty

sunny 22 °C

Today we climbed the Fortress of Ollantytambo -almost to the top but to the Sacred Gate. The scenery is fantastic and neither of us are suffering from Altitude Sickness. We are staying at a lovely hotel with the Mountains of the Sacred Valley of the Incas rearing up around us. Who would have believed that would be here and be able to enjoy this so much. Valparaiso and Santiago were interesting but this is extraordinary. Tomorrow its off to Machu Pichu after lunch at Sanctuary Lodge. Today we learned to play the Andean flute the Quena, and drank some Chicha or Maize Beer. We also saw a few Llamas and a lot of Guinea Pigs but we will not say what they are being kept for. I will add photos when we reach Cuzco day after tomorrow.
