Day 1 Foz Iguacu

4th Day of our holiday

sunny 44 °C

After 2 exhausting days in Rio we got up early this morning for our trip to Iguassu Falls. Arrived here at 2pm after the now familiar delays in our flights on the local system. We had breakfast at 6:30am and no lunch and on arrival we started off on the 1.2 km walk on the Brazilian side of the falls in 44 degree stifling heat. The falls are every bit as wonderful as up to 3500 cubic metres per second fall 70 meters for a staggering 2 km. The sweat was pouring off us by the time we got back to our deliciously air-conditiioned bus back to our newly renovated Hotel das Cataratas (no hot water as yet). Our Rio holiday included a trip to the empty Sambadrome and a Carnival Show and both Cocovado and Sugarloaf mountains. I will update the photo Gallery and Blog in Buenos Aires as I do not have the appropriate adaptor for this part of Brazil.
